Deputies in Ontario County responded to County Road 37 in West Bloomfield for the report of an elderly man lying in a field on Thursday.
The call came in around 3:11 pm, according to deputies, who say that they found a 72-year-old male, identified as Thomas A. Willoughby, of Mendon, exited his vehicle and had fallen in the field.
Further investigation determined that he was intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle on County Road 37. He was taken into custody on a charge of driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated.
The charges will be answered in West Bloomfield Town Court.
